Pearl Jewelry – Distinctive and stylish elegance

Since time immemorial pearls have fascinated women of all ages and classes. This colored gemstone with silvery sheen has adorned women in various forms such as necklaces, earrings, rings and pendants. Pearls are stunning, beautiful and enchanting; they enchant the wearer as well as the onlooker.

However, its birth is not so dramatic. On the contrary, it is born when a foreign object enters a mollusk, forcing it to secrete thin layers of concentric nacre. It is this nacre which ultimately develops into a pearl.

Pearls are broadly classified into two categories. The cultured sea gems are grown with the help of artificial stimulation whereas natural ones are formed without human intervention. Natural pearls are exceptionally rare and no sold on the open market.

Like other precious stones such as diamonds even these sea gems are used to craft many embellishments.

Pearl necklaces are often named according to their lengths. A collar design measures between 14 to 16 inches, depending on your height and neck circumference, and sits close to the throat. They are often crafted in multiple strands. Princess length strands measure between 17 to 19 inches in length and can be found on our website. They rest comfortably below the throat and are considered to be the “average” necklace length. Princess with a maximum length of 19 inches reaches the collarbone area.

A matinee design touches the middle of a woman’s chest with its 24 inches length. An opera on the other hand with its length of 34 to 36 inches enhances the breastbone area; while the rope design falls further down, more towards the belly button.

Pearl earrings too come in different designs, such as stud, dangle and cluster. These embellishments are available in fresh water, Akoya, south Sea and Tahitian pearls.

Pearl rings are synonymous with love. One of the most popular and elegant designs is a single large pearl set in gold or platinum. The simplicity of its design makes it a favorite with many women. Pearl rings are sometimes interspersed with diamonds and other gemstones for a more fashionable look.

A single strand of pearls worn around the wrist enhances a woman’s beauty. This simple bracelet gives the wearer an elegant look. Double and triple strand designs are generally meant for women who are thin. When worn, it gives them a fuller and regal appearance. More intricate options such as braided bracelets are usually worn on weddings and other formal occasions.

White, cream, pink and golden are some of the popular pearl colors available on our site.
